Some History

Back in the 1900's Puerto Rico was the world's fifth tobacco producer. Until 1927 Puerto Rico had one of the greatest tobacco industries, producing more than 350 thousand tons per year. The "Prieto" variety of tobacco was our most important asset by that time. The "Prieto" leaf was considered the most excellent and tasteful tobacco leaf wrapper in the world. In 2014, as part of our dream to rekindle tobacco production in Puerto Rico, we planted tobacco seeds at Cejas ward in Comerio. The whole process was filmed; from preparation of the soil; planting the tobacco seedlings up to the harvest of the awesome leaves that were gather by the skilled hands that actually remain. The sorting and fermentation part was also included. Proudly,  we proclaim that premium tobacco leaves grown in Puerto Rico are used for our hand made cigars.
